The building faces east and is a two story gray native stone and concrete structure. The building is located on spacious landscaped grounds in the center of Jay. The east front has a central entrance with a concrete canopy.

Delaware County was created in 1907 and named for the Delaware Native Americans who resettled in what was then Indian Territory in the 1830’s. As of the 2020 census, its population was 40,397. Its county seat is Jay. This courthouse was built by the WPA in 1941 and is constructed of rusticated and coursed native limestone.

The building houses the County District Court of the 13th Judicial District. Jay was specifically platted as a county seat, with the association reserving a central block for a courthouse. The building was expanded in 1999 to 2001 with an addition on the west side.Retry
