If you are facing a drug or alcohol related charge, you will most likely be required to obtain a “Drug & Alcohol assessment, and follow the recommendations.” Odds are you have never had to take this kind of assessment and are wondering what all this entails. Here at The Lee Firm we always refer our clients to Dr. Dana Fitzgerald, at ADSAC DUI Tulsa. Dr. Fitzgerald has written a primer for you so you can learn more about the process.
When an individual gets a DUI in Oklahoma, Service Oklahoma will require them to complete an ADSAC DUI Assessment and follow all the recommendations from that assessment. This assessment differs from other drug and alcohol assessments. The ADSAC DUI Assessment is designed specifically for DUI.
Cost: The state fee is $160 due at the time of the assessment.
Requirements
DUI School: The assessment and the number of lifetime DUI’s will determine the individual’s class level.
For a first-time DUI, the required class is typically a 10-hr ADSAC class completed over three days, at 3.5 hours per day. The 10-hour class costs $150.
A second DUI is typically a 24-hr ADSAC class completed over a six week period: two hours per day, two days a week. The 24-hour class costs $360.
A third DUI is typically a 24-hr ADSAC class plus six weeks of substance abuse counseling. This level will take six to twelve weeks to complete. The 24-hour class costs $360. 6 Week Substance Abuse Counseling costs $300. 6 Weeks of Relapse Prevention costs $300.
These classes are determined by the individual’s lifetime number of DUIs and the results of the ADSAC DUI Assessment.
Victim Impact Panel: Often referred to as a “VIP” this class costs $75 and last approximately 70 minutes. This is required on all levels.
